Innovation Sports would like to once again, thank all runners and supporters for attending the 2nd race in the Clapham Common 10k Series 2007.

As promised, the course was rectified and proved to be a lot easier for our runners to navigate their way through.  With the sun out in its full glory, it wasn’t the best conditions for running, but everyone gave a tremendous effort and even managed to top-up on their tans!

Fernando Del Valle was appearing in his first ever Clapham 10k race and finished with an excellent time of 34.48.  His female counterpart Vicky Clarke, came in at a blistering 38.16.  Congratulations to both our respective winners!  Justina Heslop of Clapham Chasers, our winner from March came in second with a time of 38.55.  Lets hope we see you back in June challenging for your top spot again!  Our male 2nd placed runner, Steve Wooley came in at 37.55.  In 3rd place we had David Gilbert with a time of 38.14 and Karine Pradier with 39.31.  Well done to all our runners who took part and made a great day of it!

We’d like to give a special mention to 2 runners.  Both these participants demonstrated that our runs are catered for everybody, no matter what age, condition or level of fitness you have.  Ella West was our youngest runner on Sunday, at the very tender age of 12.  This was her first ever attempt at a10k and although there were points where she felt she needed to stop, she kept going and finished the race with a great time of 56.31!  Bob Parsons continues to run in our races, this was his first this year and he just keeps on going!  Nearly 80 now, Bob is a testament that age holds no barriers and as long as you look after your body there is nothing to stop you!  Bob and Ella, thank you and congratulations to you both and hopefully we’ll see you back in June!

Innovation Sports would like to give a massive thanks to Starfish our charity partner, Neil at Frontrunner, all our core team and race stewards for all your work and support on the day.

That wraps up the April Clapham Common 10k Series race and we hope to see you all and more back on Sunday 10th June 2007.
