The Innovation Sports team would like to thank all our runners and supporters who attended Sunday’s final race in the Clapham Common 10k Series 2007.

Despite all the random weather we have endured these past few weeks, we actually had fairly warm conditions and no rain!  So, an excellent day all-round.

Congratulations go to both our respective winners on the day Fernando Del Val, his 3rd win of the series and Justina Heslop, who returned to claim back her well deserved winner’s spot.  The 2nd place male runner was Luke Walton running his first Clapham 10k this year and the female runner-up being another making her Clapham Common 10k debut this year, Catherine Dulla.  Our 3rd place runners were Paul Martaletti and Rosalind Harrison.  Well done to all of you!

These results bring to an end the 10k series for 2007 and we now have the overall winners’ standings:

Congratulations to all winners, especially a very close call between our 2 top ladies Justina and Karolina.  Both finished with the same points total, but Justina taking the title as she has won a greater number of races.  Well done to all of you for making the Clapham Common 10k series 2007, such a huge success.

Throughout the year we’ve had great support and we cannot thank you enough. We have some special runners amongst you and this year we decided to give a very special award to someone that has given everything to running.  Innovation Sports awarded Bob Parsons with ‘most inspirational runner’ award.  He truly is a testament to good health and conditioning and living life.  He has run in 4 of our 5 races this year at the ripe age of 79 and he hopes to be back again in 2008.  An amazing feat for an amazing man, congratulations Bob!

Special mentions go to our official sponsors Fitness First, Barnard Marcus and Profeet.  Profeet, who had a few runners take part in the race have been a great asset since coming on-board with the series in August.  Also, a big shout for our outstanding and very committed charity partner Starfish, they have been a massive help to the series!  And last but certainly not least, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire innovation team for all their work this year.  Every one of them put in 100% to making every race a success and we couldn’t put on a show without them.  Thank you guys!

So, that brings an end to the Clapham Common 10k Series for 2007.  Each race has got bigger and we would love to carry that on, into next year.  So don’t put your running shoes away for too long, because we’ll be back on Sunday 2nd March 2008 for a bigger and better brand new series.  For more information and registration, please stay tuned-in to the website.
