Support Trinity Hospice by raising funds whilst taking part in The Clapham Common series 2010!
Trinity Hospice is your local hospice, an expert of life care provider, and is the local hospice to 750,000 people living in our vast catchment area of south west and parts of central London. Trinity cared for over 2,000 people in this community last year, 1,750 were cared for in their own homes and over 400 of those were cared for in our Inpatients Centre. Many people are surprised to learn that Trinity Hospice is a Charity, costing £8 million per year to run; just 36% of funding comes from the NHS, meaning we must find over £5 million each year to run our services. Our priority this year is to increase our Community Nursing services so that more people can be cared for in their own homes, which is where most patients say they would prefer to be. It costs £30,000 to pay for a community nurse for a year, if 500 runners each raised £60 each this would pay for a community nurse for one year, reaching out to many more patients within our community. So when you are next running past Trinity Hospice on the common please think about how with a little input you could help terminally ill patients in your community to receive the care they deserve. So please do think about raising sponsorship for your great efforts in taking part in the Clapham Common Series. It’s easy to do and takes no time at all. Just go to www.justgiving.com and set up your fundraising page and email to your friends, families & colleagues! For more information please contact lbull@trinityhospice.org.uk 020 7787 1085
