Clapham Common Kids 2k
The Clapham Common Kids 2k Series is back for 2012. It will be heading into it's 3rd year and it is only getting bigger and better. We have had a great response from our junior runners and they have had so much fun doing it!
We are very much behind encouraging children in the community to further their running and to support them in fitness. These events give the younger generation the perfect platform to have fun and really embrace an event atmosphere.
We have a wide variety of ages and levels that take part, so please encourage your child to join in and if they are nervous we are more than happy to let parents run with their child at no extra cost.
PLEASE NOTE: This race is aimed at any child 12 or under and we ask all parents to please accompany your child to the event as they will not be allowed to participate if you are not present.
The course is fully set up with a water station and there are plenty of marshalls to encourage you every step of the way. The event is fully staffed, with live PA and music to give you a great atmosphere and all the perks of a 'full on' event are there for you to experience...
As always you'll have official timing and results posted as you finish the race and also up on our website within 24 hours.

What does entry include:

The course is a flat multi-terrain with some hilly areas, running on both grass and concrete paths. It will be a 2 lap race with a small start & finish straight. You complete 2 laps and there will be signs and a marshall directing the finish stretch, which is just to your left after you pass through the bandstand. This is a scenic route with cordoned off areas and numerous stewards to help you along the way. Some areas will have caution signs and we ask all participants to be aware of signs posted for your safety. The course is fully marshalled and sign posted, please stay on the course!
Entry in advance is £7.00, online race entry will close 1 week before the race date. Your place will only be confirmed once we have received payment and issued you with a confirmation email. Entry on the day will be available, but with limited spaces.
Communication will be via email. Please monitor your emails as occasionally email filters direct these mails to your ‘junk mail’. You will be sent a confirmation email with details of the run and instructions for what to do next. Please contact JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING if you do not receive an email prior to the run.
ALL runners will collect their race number and timing chip on the RACE DAY. Race numbers will NOT be sent out via post. Please arrive at the registration area, which will be open from 8.45am for both registered runners and those who wish to register on the day. Once you are in possession of you race number, please attach it to the FRONT of your chest and securely strap the timing chip to your shoe lace. The timing chip has to be worn on your shoe as you will not receive a time if you do not.
Our race capacity is capped at 200 runners.
To help the race commence as smoothly as possible, we kindly request that ALL runners use the starting order below as a guide to commencing the race. This will help fellow experienced runners to set off and to help ease the congestion for the start. PLEASE NOTE: Your individual time will be clocked as soon as you cross the start line.
Beginner - start at back
Intermediate - start in the middle
Advanced/Elite runner - start at the front
There will be one water station, distance markers and stewards throughout the course to assist you during the race. We will have a clock positioned next to the start and finish line for you to check your time. Announcements will be made throughout the race!
Please make sure your timing chip is secured properly to your shoe. This will ensure your final finish time. All timing chips will be collected at the finish line, so please make sure you have handed the chip back.
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOUR CHIP IS NOT HANDED BACK, YOU WILL NOT RECIEVE A TIME AND CHARGED FOR YOUR TIMING CHIP.
